Following a win in the UFC Vegas 89 event, Julian Erosa dropped a bombshell in the post-fight interview, remarking that he doesn’t like cheaters before calling out transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. The 34-year-old encouraged Lia Thomas to transition from women’s swimming into women’s MMA before transitioning himself into a woman to beat her up.

Julian Erosa stated that he doesn’t agree with “men in women’s sports,” calling it a “bad look.” The American pointed out that there is no way that a man transitioning into women’s sports is not unfair, an opinion he strongly believes in.

The comments from Julian Erosa, in the post-fight UFC Vegas 89 interview read, “I don't like cheaters, so I wanted to call out Lia Thomas. I wanted to encourage him to transition from women's swimming into women’s MMA, and then I'll transition into becoming a woman and I am gonna beat that dude’s a**.”

Notably, the US swimmer, Lia Thomas, rose into prominence in the world sport after becoming the first transgender athlete to win an NCAA college title. But, after World Aquatics introduced rules in 2022, that prohibited any player from competing in the female category after undergoing “any part of male puberty,” Lia Thomas took legal action against them to compete in the top level of the female sport once again.

Moreover, Julian Erosa registered a guillotine choke in the preliminary bout at the UFC Vegas 89 against the Brazilian Ricardo Ramos after 2:15 minutes in round 1. Earlier in the contest, Ramos had put together a flurry of strikes to bring Erosa on the ropes, but the American found a way to work from his back before snatching his neck for a submission victory.
