With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is nearing its half-stage mark, in match number 34, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will host the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, both teams have had a similar season thus far, having eight points respectively under their names.
While both will hope to go upwards only from here on, RCB pacer made an honest admission. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made an honest admission while revealing that he had forgotten on the usage of saliva in the IPL until his team staff reminded him of the same.
Will definietly use vs PBKS: Bhuvneshwar Kumar vouches to bring reverse swing with use of saliva
In a candid conversation, Bhuvneshwar said, “I forgot that I can use saliva. Yesterday when the staff told me, I didn’t know that I have to use it. I am not sure if it will help or not, but now that I remember, definitely in tomorrow’s match I will put some saliva and see if it helps or not.”
It is to be noted that with Bhuvneshwar using saliva to bring reverse swing, he could prove lethal to the Punjab batting lineup, but it has to be seen the ball’s behaviour seeing the pitch conditions. While Bhuvi rested his opinions here, his contemporaries have embraced the opportunity to revive the art of swing.
In Delhi Capitals’ match against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi, Mitchell Starc showed glimpses of reverse swing. His remarkable accuracy and touch of reverse swing played a crucial role in restricting the Royals, thus helping his team to victory in the Super Over.
