Preity Zinta, one of the co-owners of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and a world-renowned Bollywood actress, recently revealed that she once made 120 aloo parathas for the team during the 2009 edition of the Indian Premier League played in South Africa. She did so because the players of Punjab Kings, then known as Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), weren’t getting the best of aloo parathas served to them in the rainbow nation.

Recently, in a chat on Star Sports, which is currently broadcasting the IPL 2023 on television in the country, the 48-year-old was asked by the anchor, “Who would have thought Preity Zinta would make aloo parathas for her team? I think they have stopped eating all paratha after that,” to which Harbhajan Singh started laughing.

“First time I realised, how much do the boys eat. We were in South Africa, and they served not a good all paratha. Then I told them, ‘I will teach you to make all paratha’. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make all parathas for them. I told them that, will make aloo parathas if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 aloo parathas. After that I have stopped making aloo parathas,” Preity Zinta made the revelation to the Star Sports anchor in a hilarious manner.

After hearing her answer, Harbhajan Singh funnily remarked, “Irfan (Pathan) alone would have ate 20 (aloo parathas).” During the 2009 IPL season, Irfan Pathan was a part of the Punjab franchise. He is currently working on the Indian Premier League as an analyst with the broadcasters.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, captained by Shikhar Dhawan in the 2023 season of the IPL, are placed at number 6 on the points table with 4 wins and 4 losses right now. In their previous match, the Kings suffered a massive defeat of 56 runs at the hands of the Super Giants after conceding the second highest total of 257/5 in the 15-year history of the tournament.
