Pakistan batsman Iftikhar Ahmed has slammed a Twitter user for spreading his fake quotes on social media, in which he allegedly insulted the Indian cricket team. The user, who goes by the name of @rnawaz31888, posted a screenshot of the tweet with a quote attributed to Iftikhar, saying that he feels like playing against street children whenever he faces India.

The quote, which was clearly fabricated and intended to create controversy, went viral on Twitter and sparked outrage among Indian fans. However, Iftikhar was quick to notice the false claim and took to his official Twitter account to deny it. He also urged his followers to report the user for spreading hate and misinformation.

“I’ve been made aware of this statement, which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate. @X @elonmusk please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick,” Iftikhar tweeted.

Iftikhar also tagged Elon Musk, the owner of the platform formerly known as Twitter, and asked him to ban the account of the user, who had a verified blue tick. The blue tick is supposed to indicate that the account belongs to a credible and authentic source, but in this case, it was clearly being used to spread fake news. The original tweet containing this quote has been deleted as a result of this reply from Ahmed.

Iftikhar received support from fans in both India and Pakistan, who praised him for calling out the user and exposing his lies. Many fans also appreciated Iftikhar’s respect and professionalism towards his opponents and condemned the user for trying to create animosity between the two countries.

Iftikhar is one of Pakistan’s most talented batsmen, having played 4 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 49 T20Is for his country. He has been named in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will be held in India. Ahmed will also be hoping to make it to the World Cup 2023 squad, which will be held in India later this year.
