One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Aaron Rodgers has penned an emotional post on Instagram to address his season-ending achilles injury, which he suffered in his debut game for the New York Jets against the Buffalo Bills on September 11. During the Monday night NFL game at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the 39-year-old got injured after a tackle from Leonard Floyd, less than four minutes into the contest.

The players of the Jets managed to keep their emotions in check, after the unfortunate incident to their newest teammate, to make a big comeback against the Bills. They secured a stunning win by 22-16 in their season opener, with Xavier Gipson returning a punt 65 yards for a touchdown, 58 seconds into overtime.

An MRI scan on September 12, Tuesday showed that Aaron Rodgers has a complete tear of his left achilles tendon, ruling him out for the rest of the ongoing NFL season. An injury of this kind generally takes around 9 to 12 months to heal as per the reports.

On September 14, Thursday, three days after the unfortunate incident, the former Super Bowl champion took to his official Instagram account, to thank everyone for reaching out to him, first and foremost, before talking about how he will start his healing process now. His post read, “Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d, connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon”.

“I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again. Proud of my guys, 1-0,” he added.
