The Undertaker is considered as one of the most scary WWE wrestlers to have ever entered the ring. Many small kids and fans used to fear 'The Deadman' and it is no secret that even some of the young wrestlers used to get frightened at times in front of the great man. Well, that's how brilliant Mark William Calaway was inside the wrestling ring.
As The Undertaker gets set to be inducted in WWE Hall of Fame on April 1 in Dallas ahead of WrestleMania, former WWE star Maven Klint Huffman has revealed a very interesting episode from Royal Rumble 2002.
What happened 20 years back?
In the event, Maven had pulled off a big upset by eliminating The Undertaker out of nowhere. The WWE icon looked extremely angry with the turn of events and gave a deadly look to his opponent, scaring him for life.
While many people had thought that it was incredible acting by Maven, it turns out that the former WWE star was actually frightened in real life, as he thought he had kicked his opponent wrongly, which might have angered him.
"I eliminated him, he sells, gets up, turns, and looks at me… Then you see fear on my face. Most people are like, ‘That’s some great acting there.’ Nuh-uh, I wasn’t acting. I was legitimately terrified at that moment. Legitimately, not even working, I was shoot terrified because I didn’t know if I kicked him too hard," Maven said on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast.
He added, "It just goes to show how great he was because the look he was giving me for real scared me, and then we get backstage and after I went through the popcorn machine and everything, he’s just telling me, ‘Great job, kid.’ I was on cloud nine that whole night."
Two weeks after this incredible moment, Maven went on to defeat The Undertaken in Smackdown to win the Hardcore Championship, which was the first championship of his career.
