After defeating the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder to reach the 2024 NBA Western Conference Final, the Dallas Mavericks have taken a 2-0 lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves. During Game 2 on Friday night, Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic appeared to abuse the 2023-24 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert, after scoring the game-winner, however, the Slovenian denied making such comment in a post-game interview.
The Dallas Mavericks, on the back of Luka Doncic, secured a 2-0 lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the WCF. Doncic, who registered a 30-point triple-double (32 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds), scored a step-back 3-pointer with 0.03 seconds remaining in the game.

Wolves center Rudy Gobert was guarding Luka Doncic when he made the clutch three-pointer to help Dallas beat Minnesota 109-108 in Game 2. After making the shot, Doncic appeared to mock Gobert as he said, "Let’s go mother f**ker. You can't f**king guard me."

I was speaking Slovenian: Luka Doncic on abusing Gobert
In a post-game interview, Luka was asked about the incident as a reporter asked, "So he can't effin guard you, huh?" The five-time NBA All-Star responded, "Who said that?" After the reporter's confirmation, Luka said, "I didn't say that... I was speaking Slovenian."

I let my team down: Rudy Gobert on Luka's game-winner
In a post-game interview, Rudy Gobert was asked about Luka Doncic's game-winner and the French center claimed he let his team down. Gobert said, "We just switched on the pick-and-roll and I was on an iso on Luka and he hit a big-time shot. I let my team down on that last play."

Gobert was then asked how he let his team down and the 31-year-old said, "They believed in me to get a stop and (Doncic) scored. And he scored a 3, which is something that he does very well. So, I’m definitely taking that responsibility that I need to be better in that situation."
