Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Harshal Patel recently penned an emotional note for his elder sister, Archita Patel, who passed away on Saturday, 9 April 2022. Patel left the RCB bio-bubble for a couple of days and went home to spend time with his family members.

The 31-year-old missed the game against Chennai Super Kings where RCB lost by 23 runs. But he returned to the team to play against his former team Delhi Capitals and had figures of 0 for 40 in his four overs. Harshal Patel posted a picture with his sister and penned a heart-warming message in the caption. He wrote, “You were one of the kindest and most joyful person in our lives."

"You faced incredible difficulties in life with a big smile on your face till your last breath. When I was with you in the hospital before I came back to India you told me to focus on my game and don’t worry about you.  Those words was the only reason I could come back and take the field last night. That’s all I could do now to remember and honour you. I will continue to do everything that made you proud of me. I will miss you every moment of my life, in good times and bad. I love you so much. Rest in peace jadi.”

Bangalore’s newest finisher

Against Delhi, Dinesh Karthik once again rescued RCB from a precarious position as he hit 66 from 34 balls. In the post-match interview, after winning the Player of the Match award, Karthik said, “But I must admit that I have a bigger goal. I have been working really hard. I have been trying to do everything to be a part of the Indian team. Depends on the bowler, whoever is bowling well. I respected Kuldeep as he was bowling well. When you are batting at the death, you try and get under the ball more while hitting.”

“You make me sound like a serial killer (laughs when asked as to how was he so calm and hit them so hard at the same time). I must admit positions and calmness comes from preparations. Apart from that staying in the moment sounds cliched but it works. He (Shahbaz) is a very special player, I am very sure he is going to do special things. He can hit a ball a long long way. And he backs himself which I like about him”, DK added.
