The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize money for the upcoming World Test Championship final between South Africa and Australia which is scheduled to take place at Lords from June 11 to 15. This time, the prize money is almost double than the previous editions in 2021 and 2023. The total prize money is $5.76 million (Rs. 49.28 Crore), out of which the champions team will walk away with the prize money of $3.6 million (Rs. 30.80 Crore), while the runners-up will get $2.16 million (Rs. 18.48 Crore).

In the 2021 and the 2023 edition of the WTC final, the champions were awarded $1.6 million (Rs. 13.69 crore) each year, while the runners-up were awarded with $800,000 (Rs. 6.84 crore). Now, the both the champions and the runners-up will see a huge hike in the prize money than the previous two seasons.

How much prize money will India get for WTC 2023-25 edition?

The previous two-time runners-up India, who couldn’t make it to the final this time, will also receive a prize money of $1.44 million (Rs. 12.32 crore) for finishing in third place after the end of the 2023-25 WTC cycle. Apart from that, New Zealand will receive $1.20 million for finishing in fourth place while fifth place England will get $960,000.
