Australia defeated Afghanistan by three wickets with the help of an unbelievable double hundred from Glenn Maxwell as he played one of the greatest-ever innings in ODI history to script a stunning victory for his side. Initially, Afghanistan batting first posted a total of 291/5 in 50 overs with the help of a century from Ibrahim Zadran (129*) and Rashid Khan's quick-fire knock (35*) in the end.
Australia were struggling in the run-chase while chasing this total as they were reduced to 91/7 in 18.3 overs, but from that stage, Glenn Maxwell's double century (201*) helped them to register a victory and qualify for the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023. Glenn Maxwell despite struggling with cramps and injuries managed to pull off this stunning chase and entered in record books today.
