Sri Lanka recorded their first win of the ODI World Cup 2023 with the help of a brilliant batting performance from Sadeera Samarawickrama who went on to smash an unbeaten 91 runs in this game to ensure they chased down 263 runs successfully in this game. Initially, Pathum Nissanka also smashed a brilliant fifty at the top of the order while others like Asalanka and Dhananjaya de Silva also played a supporting role with Samarawickrama.

Talking about the Netherlands inning they went on to record a total of 262 runs despite being down for 91/6 with the help of a brilliant 130-run partnership between Sybrand Engelbrecht and Logan van Beek. Among Sri Lankan bowlers both Dilshan Madushanka and Kasun Rajitha each picked four wickets with the ball respectively.
