Iceland Cricket has taken a dig at Lucknow Super Giants’ captain Rishabh Pant for his failure in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The southpaw has failed to justify his heavy amount of INR 27 Crore in this competition, scoring only 128 runs in 10 innings of 11 matches at a miserable average of 12.80. Under his captaincy, his side is placed in the seventh spot on the points table, with five wins and six defeats in 11 outings. Noting his underwhelming performance at the T20 event, Iceland Cricket has named him captain and wicketkeeper of their team 'IPL 2025 frauds and scammers.'

Accompanying the 27-year-old, his compatriots Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, and Deepak Hooda also found the spot in the playing XI, with a couple of notable names Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami. Mukesh Kumar has also been added to the side as an impact player. Talking about overseas names Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Maxwell, Liam Livingstone, and Matheesha Pathirana also featured in the team. Taking to X, Iceland Cricket wrote the post, “On a rain day in Reyjavík, we give you our IPL 2025 frauds and scammers team: R Tripathi, R Ravindra, I Kishan, R Pant (c & wk), V Iyer, G Maxwell, L Livingstone, D Hooda, R Ashwin, M Pathirana, M Shami; No impact player: M Kumar.”

CSK’s five players get the spot in the Iceland Cricket's team

Five CSK players broke into Iceland Cricket’s team for IPL 2025 frauds and scammers. Ravichandran Ashwin, who made a comeback in the Yellow Army after 10 years, was included due to his ineffective bowling numbers while Rachin Ravindra, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, and Matheesha Pathirana four players are also a part of the squad.

Glenn Maxwell, who returned to the Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) set-up, also earned the spot in the team after his egregious IPL 2025 performance in the season. KKR all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer’s name also highlighted in the list. Kolkata’s left-handed batting stalwart has scored only 142 runs in seven innings of 11 games at an average of 20.28.
