Ahead of the highly anticipated match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the IIT Baba, also known as Abhey Singh, who has gone viral in recent times on social media, made a bold prediction about India losing to Pakistan on Sunday, February 23. But, unfortunately for him, his prediction went wrong as India got the better of Pakistan by six wickets in a one-sided contest, to get a step closer to making the semi-finals, while putting their arch-rivals on the brink of elimination.
Notably, the IIT Baba stated that not only will India suffer a defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash in Group A at the Dubai International Stadium, but also stated that Virat Kohli and the rest of the players won’t be able to do anything about it. He was categoric in his stance, which made the fans of the Indian cricket team worry about whether the prediction will come true.
IIT Baba said the following about the India versus Pakistan clash, which was played last night in Dubai, as per the report published in Livemint, “I am telling you now itself, that India will not win the match against Pakistan. Whichever player is there, Virat Kohli and others…ask them to prove themselves…if I've said India will not win, it won't win.”
Virat Kohli's hundred helped India beat Pakistan in one-sided CT'25 clash
But, ultimately, IIT Baba’s prediction didn’t turn out to be true as India managed to chase down a 242-run target against Pakistan with six wickets in hand and 45 balls to spare. Virat Kohli, whom the IIT Baba expected to fail, got an unbeaten hundred in 111 balls, to take the Indian cricket team over the line, and during his memorable innings, he brought up 14,000 ODI runs and became the third highest run-getter in the history of international cricket.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team could automatically qualify through to the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 if New Zealand defeat Bangladesh in the Group A clash later today.
