Prithvi Shaw, who was once considered one of the most promising young talents in India, has recently decided to part ways with Mumbai ahead of the upcoming domestic season and is set to join Maharashtra for a new chapter in his life. His career has been deeply impacted by recurring concerns about his fitness and discipline which proved very costly for him as he remained unsold for the IPL 2025.
Prithvi Shaw has played for India in five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20I. He scored 134 runs on his Test debut against the West Indies in 2018. He was dropped from Mumbai’s squad in the Ranji Trophy after just Two matches due to his fitness issues. The 25-year-old also admitted that he has made a lot of mistakes in his career which have proved very costly to him, leading to his downfall in cricket. He is ready to make a fight back in his career and learn from the mistakes he has made.
Opening about his life & career, in a recent interview Prithvi Shaw stated that he relates to the character of “Jethalal from Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah”, in review of the social media criticism faced by him. He acknowledged that despite being a naturally calm person, he has been frequently linked to controversies.
Prithvi Shaw likely to play for Maharashtra in domestic cricket now
Shaw is currently determined to make a comeback to the Indian national team. He has also stated that he has changed his daily habits in order to be fully fit and train at his maximum levels. He is focusing on the present and working according to it rather than thinking too much about the future. Shaw has already received NOC (No Objection Certificate) from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and is likely to play for Maharashtra further in his domestic cricket career
Whether this leads to a historic comeback or a goodbye from Cricket is still unknown by Luke Shaw. However he is choosing the Hard way to reach his destination which is to make a spot for himself in the Indian cricket team by continuous hard work and staying away from distractions which can ruin his career.
