India defeated Australia by 6 wickets in shortened version of a T20I game (8 overs per side) with the help of a stunning innings from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and thunderous finish from Dinesh Karthik in last over of match. Initially, India winning the toss invited Aussies to bat first and they posted 90/5 in 8 overs with the help of skipper Aaron Finch's knock and sensational finish from their wicket-keeper batter Matthew Wade. India's key pacer Harshal Patel ended up being a disappointment once again, while Axar Patel continued his good form with the ball, picking 2 early wickets for India.
India chasing 91 runs faced some hiccups initially from Adam Zampa as he looked very threatening in the earlier stage for India. Zampa picked three key wickets of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and finally ended with the bowling figures of 3/16 in 2 overs, but Rohit Sharma played a very fluent innings after a long time as his unbeaten knock off 46 from 20 balls comprising 4 boundaries and 4 sixes helped India to cross the winning line.
