With a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series, the two sides, India and Australia will now lock horns in the final match of the series on Wednesday, 27th September. But ahead of the final match of the series, the BCCI have been handed a big blow as Axar Patel has been ruled out as he continues to nurse his injury sustained in the Asia Cup 2023.
Additionally, the national selectors have reportedly granted rest to opener Shubman Gill and Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who have been playing continuously. As reported by Indian Express, neither of them will travel to Rajkot from Indore for the series finale but will join the team in Guwahati.
However, the final ODI between India and Australia will see the return of senior players, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after the two were rested as part of their workload management.
