The Indian team registered a dominant performance in the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co. pulled off a victory by an inning and 132 runs to beat Australia at Nagpur. Team India had some incredible performances from across departments.

Ravindra Jadeja’s incredible 5-wicket spell rattled the Aussies in the first innings, after which Rohit Sharma played a captain’s knock, scoring a brilliant 120 to set up India’s second-innings lead. Building on this platform, Jadeja and Axar Patel extended the gap between the two teams with some valuable late contributions. Then in the second innings, it was R Ashwin's show, as the off-spinner picked up a five-wicket haul in just 12 overs and bundle out the Aussies at the score of 91.

After Nagpur, both teams travel to Delhi for the second Test which will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Talking about this fixture, let us look at India’s possible playing XI.

Top-order: Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara

With Rohit Sharma being in brilliant form, the Indian team seems much more dominant entering the fortress of Delhi. But, along with Sharma, the likes of KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara must fire, if India wants to win the 2nd Test.
