India's Playing XI for 1st T20I against New Zealand

The Indian team will be thrilled after completing another 3-0 whitewash at home. The Men in Blue registered a 3-0 clean sweep over New Zealand in the recently concluded ODI series at home. 

Team India will now look to maintain their winning streak in the T20I series as well against New Zealand. The first T20I is slated to be played on Friday (January 27) in Ranchi. The young side will be led by Hardik Pandya. 

The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Axar Patel, and KL Rahul are not part of the T20I squad which will give an opportunity to young players to cement their spot in the shortest format of the game.

Top-order: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tripathi

The in-form Shubman Gill will be the first opener for the side. Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw, who is returning to India's squad after a long gap will join Gill as his opening partner. Ishan Kishan will take the wicket-keeper's role for the side and will be the number 3 in the batting order.
