The Rohit Sharma-led Team India had a hard pill to swallow after registering a heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 Final. While they came into the final on the back of ten win on the trot, Australia also after their loss against India and South Africa, registered eight wins in a row to finally lift the trophy for the record sixth time.

While the Men in Blue just did not have that perfect day on the field in the grand finale, losing by six wickets. This defeat was visible on the face of the players a well as the members of the host nation. Amid this massive defeat, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was in attendance at the ODI World Cup 2023, visited the India dressing room at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

However, the picture of PM Modi’s visit has been doing rounds on social media, players of the Indian cricket team including highest wicket-taker Mohammed Shami, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share photos from his visit. “Unfortunately, yesterday was not our day. I would like to thank all Indians for supporting our team and me throughout the tournament. Thankful to PM @narendramodi for specially coming to the dressing room and raising our spirits. We will bounce back!”, he wrote.

“We had a great tournament but we ended up short yesterday. We are all heartbroken but the support of our people is keeping us going. PM @narendramodi’s visit to the dressing room yesterday was special and very motivating,” Ravindra Jadeja said.

Notably, Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles was also in attendance at the ODI World Cup 2023 final. The two political head handed the title trophy to the Australia captain Pat Cummins in the ceremony.
