The fifth and final Test of the five-match series for Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is underway at the Kennington Oval in London with India trailing in the series by 1-2 margin. After ending Day 2 of the fifth Test at the score of 75/2, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep went onto to stitch a crucial stand to put a competitive total on the board. While the Indian opener went onto hit a ton (118 off 164), Akash Deep also hit his maiden fifty (66).
Thereafter, fighting 50s from Ravindra Jadeja (53) and Washington Sundar (53) helped India put 396 on the board, thus posting a lead of 373 runs. Although, as the day neared the closure, England once again took the field, but opener Zak Crawley departed early after scoring only 14 off 36 deliveries. At stumps on day three, England had posted 50 for the loss of one wicket as they still needed 324 runs to win the Test as claim the series.

During the upcoming day’s play, while the morning will see the temperature reach a maximum of 22°C with the probability of precipitation standing at 25%, during the afternoon hours, the temperature will reach to 23°C with the weather likely to be cloudy with a brief shower or two expected.
