On the third day of the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, when Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep came to bat at a score of 75/2, Team India were expecting both to give England a tough time. As per expectations, both played phenomenally. Akash Deep, who was in the middle as a nightwatchman, hammered the hosts’ bowling unit mercilessly and brought his maiden Test fifty in just 70 balls. His innings came to an end after scoring 66 off 94. Jamie Overton got him caught at the hands of Gus Atkinson. Following his departure, captain Shubman Gill and Karun Nair couldn’t do much as they fell against Atkinson after scoring only 11 and 17 respectively.

Yashasvi Jaiswal went on to notch up his sixth Test ton in 127 balls and played a major role in solidifying India’s position in the contest. The opener concluded his knock after hitting 118 runs from 164 balls. Ravindra Jadeja displayed fighting spirit and produced an innings of 53 off 77. Dhruv Jurel scored 34 from 46. Washington Sundar amassed 53 off 46 and helped India reach 396 runs in their second innings.
