Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricketing superstar, has made his arrival at The Oval in London, to support the national team against England in the ongoing fifth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy on Saturday, August 2, in which they are currently 2-1 behind. The 38-year-old, who retired from Test format as captain of the Indian cricket team over a couple of months ago, is still the leader of the ODI side after securing the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.
Apart from his Test retirement this past May, Rohit Sharma has already called it quits in the T20I format last year after captaining India to their second ICC T20 World Cup trophy in the Caribbean and the USA. With that, he is only available to play for India in ODIs, which is the least played format in comparison to Tests and T20Is, and as of this writing, his next ODI series could be against Australia in Australia in October.

With the ODI World Cup still over two years away, there isn’t any clarity on whether Rohit Sharma will play the coveted tournament, which he hasn’t won yet, but as of right now, he is focused on enjoying some time off in the United Kingdom. In the video shared by ANI on their official X account, Rohit Sharma could be seen walking towards the entrance gate of The Oval along with other spectators before he got his entry pass checked on his phone by the steward.
In the fifth Test in London, India are currently in a very good situation during the first session on day three after making a big comeback in the contest with the ball on day two, bundling out England for 247 runs in response to their 224-run total. As of this writing, India have reached 150/2 in 36 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal (80* off 93) alongside nightwatchman Akash Deep (47* off 67) at the crease.
