India: With a scarcity of players, India will be forced to take the field with limited options. Nonetheless, it will be the first time Rohit Sharma will take the field as a full-time captain in ODIs. Rohit will be itching to rally the troops after so long but he will miss his partner KL Rahul. However, he will have Ishan Kishan with him on the other side. Virat Kohli will come at No. 3 and will be followed by Surya Kumar Yadav and Pant at 4 and 5 (not in any order). Deepak Hooda may get his ODI cap while Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur look certain choices. The Kul-Cha pair may be back considering the pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium.
West Indies: Kieron Pollard's men will be high on confidence after defeating England in the T20I series. However, they don't have a really good history playing in India. So, Pollard will have added pressure. Cricket West Indies has recalled Kemar Roach, Nkrumah Bonner, and Brandon King for the ODIs, and looks like these three may get a chance straight away. Hayden Walsh Jr, Jason Holder, and Akeal Hosein look the other choices in bowling.
