Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Match Preview:

After displaying their dominance in the 1st ODI, India will take on West Indies in the 2nd ODI at Narendra Modi Stadium on February 09. While India put on an all-around performance, the West Indies were left clueless as the visitors were inferior with both bat and bowl. Rohit Sharma will be keen to continue from where he left and look to seal the series win with a thumping victory. In contrast, West Indies have a lot to think about if they hope to bounce back.

Pitch report:

Yuzvendra Chahal's supremacy in the 1st ODI shows that the spinners have an extra edge. The pitch will get slow as the match progresses, and batters will have to make an extra effort to put some score on board.

Team's Analysis:

India:

As Rohit Sharma highlighted in the 1st match, India could have put more pressure on the West Indies' lower middle order. Virat Kohli started the innings with a couple of boundaries, but he failed to stay on the crease; the prolific batsman will be looking to spend some more time on the crease. Ishan Kishan looked good as an opener, and hopefully, he will continue to do the same. Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda showed a lot of potential in the 1st ODI, and they will be strengthening the middle-order once again. KL Rahul is likely to come back in the playing XI. However, it will be interesting to see at what position he will play. India bowlers were right on the money, Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were exceptional with the new ball, while Chahal and Washington Sundar provided the much-needed breakthroughs to the skipper. India will likely go with the same bowling lineup in the 2nd ODI.

West Indies:

West Indies have a lot to brainstorm after the 1st ODI. Their batters failed to make any mark in the game; even skipper Kieron Pollard played an irresponsible shot because he was out on duck. He should have taken some responsibility in the game. However, the 78-run stand between Jason Holder and Fabian Allen was one of the takeaways from the West Indies' batting. Although West Indies bowlers did perform better than their batters, it was not enough to win the game. West Indies are likely to go with the same team hoping to rescue themselves from the series loss.

Probable Playing XI:

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

West Indies: Brandon King, Shai Hope (wk), Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Kemar Roach

Match Prediction:

Conclusion:

Considering the performance of both the teams in the last game and India's favourable home conditions, hosts certainly have an edge in the game. India will win the match.
