After the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee announced India’s 15-member squad for the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 alongside Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian Women team also revealed their squad for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Notably, the Women’s World Cup 2025 is scheduled to be played from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.
Appearing at the press conference following a meeting with the BCCI Secretary-led Devajit Sakia, Harmanpreet Kaur alongside former left-arm spinner Neetu David, named India’s 15-member squad. The side will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur for the first time in the Women’s World Cup with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.
Shafali Verma misses out from India’s squad for Women's CWC 2025
While the side includes some of star players, Pratika Rawal, the new sensation has also found her name in the side. Shafali Verma, who has been a brilliant batter, has failed to make in the 15-member side, whereas Renuka Thakur is set to return after a long injury layoff. With this Thakur will make her international comeback in the three-match ODI series against Australia in September ahead of the marquee tournament.
Pace bowling all-rounder Amanjot Kaur has also been included in the World Cup squad, but has been rested from the Australia ODI series.
