Despite India’s brilliant bowling performance against New Zealand, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has raised concerns regarding the Indian bowling line-up attack. He believes that the Indian bowlers will “struggle” on good batting tracks and against better opposition.

The Men in Blue bundled out the New Zealand batters for the score of 108 in 34 overs  in 2nd ODI. Every Indian bowler managed to pick up wickets. Mohammed Shami was the top performer with a spell of 3-18 in six while others also put on economical figures.  But Akhmal, while talking on his YouTube channel, questioned the ability of Indian bowlers against better teams.

He said, “This Indian bowling unit might struggle in conditions that are good for batting, especially against top teams. It is very important for India to accommodate Umran Malik in the playing XI," said Akmal. “He is getting better and better and can surely prove to be a matchwinner. The bowling lineup will look very strong when Jasprit Bumrah returns."

Further in the video, Kamran Akmal complemented the Indian team for their recent run of form and stated that the Men in Blue are well-prepared for the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India. He said, “India should look to whitewash New Zealand.”

“The team is very high on confidence and the players look in a good rhythm. The good thing about this Indian side is that they have won matches while both chasing and defending. We have seen in the past that they prefer to chase. However, they want to tick all the boxes ahead of the World Cup," added Akmal.

After two incredible performances, the Indian team will host New Zealand for the third ODI in the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Both teams will then lock horns in a three-game T20I series which will start on January 27.
