The final of the ODI World Cup 2023, which was held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in front of a capacity crowd, saw the hosts India get beaten by six wickets with seven overs to spare by Australia in a 241-run chase. The one-sided victory for the Australians allowed them to put their hands on the coveted CWC trophy for the sixth time, which is four times more than India and the inaugural champions the West Indies in joint second place.
Despite the tough ODI World Cup 2023 final for the Indian cricket team, they had won 10 straight matches to reach there, while Virat Kohli, who was the highest scorer in the CWC with 765 runs in 11 innings, got the player of the tournament award. Moreover, as per the report from the Economic Times, the major boost of ₹22,000 crore to the Indian economy happened through various sectors, especially the travel and hospitality ones.
BCCI’s net worth currently stands at ₹18760 crore: Reports
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly has a net worth that currently stands at a whopping ₹18760 crore, which is 28 times higher than the second-place nation. Cricbuzz reported that Cricket Australia (CA) is ₹658 crore, thanks mainly to the success of the Big Bash League (BBL), just like with the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the case of India, while the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are in third place with ₹493 crore.
