Preview

In match no. 15 of the Indian T20 League, struggling Kolkata Knight Riders take on high-flying Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai. Both the sides have had a rather contrasting early part of the tournament. While KKR won their opening contest and list the next two, it has been a completely opposite case for CSK who lost their first match but bounced back to emerge victorious in the following couple of matches. With some explosive players in action on a batting-friendly wicket at Wankhede, the stage is set for an exciting run-fest on Wednesday.

Team News

Kolkata:

Eoin Morgan's side will be playing their first match in Mumbai and could make 1-2 changes in their side. Shakib Al Hasan has not had a great start to the season and could be replaced. KKR have a few overseas options like Sunil Narine, Ben Cutting and Lockie Ferguson to choose from. There is also a slight possibility that Harbhajan Singh might make way for either Kuldeep Yadav or Shivam Mavi.

Chennai:

MS Dhoni's side have found a perfect combination quite early in the season. They look quite well-balance in all the departments. The only spot where there could be a likely change is of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad who has been struggling with his timing. CSK do have few exciting options available in their squad in the form of Robin Uthappa, N Jagadeesan and Krishnappa Gowtham.

Analysis

Shubman Gill has not had a great start to the season in terms of runs scored but has looked in scintillating touch. With the action shifting from Chennai to Mumbai for KKR, the ball will come even better on to the bat and the right-handed batsman is certainly going to enjoy the conditions. A big knock from Gill might be on its way and he could even be a good choice for captain/vice-captain in our fantasy side for this contest. While Nitish Rana should be a certain pick based on his recent form, Andre Russell is finding his touch back with both bat and ball and could be the X-Factor in your side. In bowling, Varun Chakravarthy is expected to take a few wickets and can bring some valuable points for your side.

All the Chennai batsmen have looked in good form in the first three matches. Faf du Plessis looked in dazzling form in the previous contest and a big knock from him is not far. On the other hand, Moeen Ali has been a revelation in all departments and could be a smart choice for captain/vice-captain. While Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran can get you some valuable points with their all-round abilities, Shardul Thakur, who has not had a great tournament, will bowl some crucial overs and could be the X-Factor.
