In the world of shooting, India has grown by leaps and bounds as a nation in the 21st century, with their shooters winning medals consistently in tournaments all over the world. The performances at the Olympic Games have been quite decent in the last two decades for India in shooting, with four shooters winning medals which included a gold as well.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Silver, Athens 2004)
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore made history at the Athens 2004, winning the first-ever medal in shooting at the Olympics for India. In the final of the men’s double trap event, Ahemed Al Maktoum of the UAE won the gold medal in a convincing manner, leaving Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore to face the stiff challenge of Wang Zheng of China, which he overcame to win the silver medal.
