In the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, India opened up their campaign against Ireland on June 5. The Men in Blue took down their counterparts by a margin of eight wickets and got off to a favourable start. In their next match, the 2007 T20 world champions will be up against arch-rivals and neighbours, Pakistan. The neighbours are set to clash on Sunday, June 9, in New York.

Ashwin has picked a total of 32 wickets in 24 matches he played for the side. He made his T20 World Cup debut in the 2012 edition, and his best bowling figures at the tournament is 4/11. The 37-year-old maintains an average of 17.25 and has the second-best economy rate of 6.49.
