After the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League was suspended midway owing to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in India and the players starting to get infected, the Australian personnel involved in the tournament had nowhere to go. Australia had already banned passenger flights from India and their Prime Minister Scott Morrison made it pretty clear that the cricketers and others in India for IPL won't be given a special privilege.
Thus, it was worked out that the Australian contingent will fly to the Maldives before going to Australia and now that they have reached the island country, reports have emerged of a brawl between former Aussie cricketer Michael Slater, who was in commentary panel for IPL 2021 and David Warner. Reports claimed that the two had a heated disagreement, which later went out of hands, leading to a scuffle at a bar.

However, the duo has now responded to these reports. "There is absolutely nothing to the rumour mill, Buzz. Davie and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of (having) a fight," Slater was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.
"There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence, you can’t write anything. Nothing happened," Warner stated.
The left-handed opener did not have the best of IPLs as he was snubbed as the captain following slow batting and consecutive losses from the team. He was replaced by Kane Williamson as the skipper and was even dropped from the playing XI.
