India's highly anticipated T20 tournament, the Indian Premier League has already spread its wings with the inclusion of two new franchises, Ahmedabad and Lucknow and it is set to be the most exciting edition. Franchises have retained their top three preferred choices and everyday media keeps on buzzing with new reports related to the T20 tournament. The two new franchises have even rolled their sleeves and have started preparing to build a formidable team for the tournament, with a lot at stake.

Considering the stature of the tournament, every player in the world looks forward to be part of IPL, and recently even England Test batsman Joe Root also expressed his desire to be part of IPL. Despite Root's wish, he believes he will not do so at the stake of Test cricket. And now yet another English player has expressed his wish to join the Indian Premier League and it happens to be pacer Mark Wood.

"IPL has helped a lot of fast bowlers to enhance their skills in the shortest format of the game and I would like to do so too, looking at the T20 World Cup just round the corner," he was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Adding further, the English bowler also expressed that getting knocked out of T20 World Cup, 2021 by the hands of New Zealand in semis, hurts him a lot. "There’s a World Cup at the end of the year, and I am aiming to perform well in ICC tournament. It was a bad experience of getting knocked out of the T20 World Cup and it feels that it’s time to push hard to leave a legacy behind last year," he said.

Notably, players wanting to take part in IPL 2022 mega auctions need to submit their paperwork by the end of this week. As per reports Mark Wood is done with his paperwork. He even featured in the 2018 edition of the IPL where he served MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. However, he pulled out of last year’s mega auction in order to spend time with his young family.
