Cricket is no less than religion in India. Fans put cricketers on a pedestal so much so that a few of them are even worshipped in India. That is the reason that for one picture, autograph, or a hug, a few fans are willing to go to any extent. A cricket fan who wanted to watch Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from close quarters during the IPL 2022 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians breached the security at the MCA International Stadium in Pune to reach the ground.
However, security intervened before he could get in contact with Rohit or Virat. While the cricketers maintained their distance, in sync with the COVID-19 protocols, Rohit extended his arms and Virat signalled a fist bump to the fan.
