Guyanese left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd will join the Royal Challengers Bangalore as a net bowler for the remainder of the 2022 IPL season. The 21-year-old is expected to leave for Mumbai on Tuesday. While speaking to a Guyanese news house called News Room Guyana, he expressed his excitement to work with Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Francois du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood as he has seen them on television.

He also talked about how playing in India as a spinner could benefit his game and was quoted saying, "Going there as a spinner could really help me with my game. I want to ask simple stuff about their routine as a professional and how I can better my game as a youngster moving forward."

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are third on the table as they defeated the Mumbi Indians by seven wickets at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Today they will face the Chennai Super Kings today at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Before the match, Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis talked about facing his former team on the RCB website.

He said, "No, we’re obviously playing some nice cricket at the moment, so we’ve got a bit of form going into the match. But we also know that Chennai are a team that you can never write off. They’ve got some incredible cricketers there, So, it’s going to be a great game, and I’m looking forward to that tomorrow. Hazlewood has joined us, it’s nice for him as well; it’s his first game back, and he’s also playing against his old team."

He was also asked about how is his mindset going against players he has known for a long time. Faf replied, "In theory, yes because you know the players well. But the flip side is they also know me, they know my game very well as well. There’s that balance I suppose. But, yes, it helps to know a little bit more about player strengths, areas that you can hopefully try and see as a little bit of a weakness. It’s two strong teams competing tomorrow, looking forward to it."
