Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets and secured a spot for them in the IPL 2023 playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 200/5 in the first innings with the help of a 140-run opening partnership between Mayank Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma. Among Mumbai bowlers only, Akash Madhwal looked impressive in the death overs, with a figure of 4/37 overall. 

Mumbai Indians chased down 201 runs with the help of a brilliant century from Cameron Green, and skipper Rohit Sharma also joined the party by smashing a half-century. Green scored a 47-ball hundred and stunned the opponent team with his brilliant stroke play. Among Hyderabad bowlers, only Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled well, finishing with figures of 1/26, as all other bowlers went on to leak runs completely.
