SRH have registered their first win of the IPL 2023 by beating PBKS on a margin of eight wickets with the help of brilliant four-wicket haul from Mayank Markande and fantabulous unbeaten 100 run partnership between Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram. Initially, SRH won the toss and invited PBKS to bat first as they managed to post a total of 143/9 on the board with skipper Shikhar Dhawan alone scoring unbeaten 99 runs from 66 balls.

The PBKS batters completely failed to play the SRH bowlers as only Dhawan and Sam Curran entered double figures, and at one stage they were struggling at 88/9 but Dhawan-Mohit Rathee unbeaten 55 run partnership for the 10th wicket salvaged some pride for the Punjab side. Among the PBKS bowlers only Arshdeep Singh and Sam Curran were effective with ball in the second innings of the game.
