With just four matches remaining in the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, three teams have booked their playoff spots including the two-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, the 2016 IPL champions, SunRisres Hyderabad, and the inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals. Apart from them, the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will square off against each other for the final spot while LSG are also in contention.

Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad

While the two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, become the first team to clinch the IPL 2024 playoff berth, the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals, became the second team to book their playoffs berth after the Delhi Capitals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants. On Thursday, the match between SRH and GT was called off due to rain and both teams settled with a point each, which helped Hyderabad book their playoff berth.

Chennai Super Kings and  Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The defending champions, CSK, and  RCB are scheduled to face each other in their last match on Saturday, May 18 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. If Virat Kohli's Bengaluru managed to win the fixture with a good margin, they would qualify for the playoffs, however, Chennai require just a win to qualify.

Lucknow Super Giants

Apart from CSK and RCB, the Lucknow Super Giants are also in contention to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoff, however, they require a huge margin of victory to qualify as their net run rate has been a concern. LSG will face MI on Friday in their final league-stage fixture of the season.

Delhi Capitals,  Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings

Th e IPL 2024 playoff qualification chances for the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings are zero. The Capitals are placed fifth with 14 points in 14 matches followed by the Titans at eighth with 12 points in 14 games, PBKS with 10 points, and MI have eight points in 13 games.
