The No. 1 ICC T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, returned to form as he smashed a spectacular unbeaten century to guide the Mumbai Indians to a seven-wicket win against the high-flying SunRisers Hyderabad with 16 balls remaining. While chasing a 174-run target, MI lost their opening three batters at 31 runs in 4.1 overs, however, SKY and Tilak Varma's unbeaten 143-run stand helped them secure a win and the 33-year-old batter entered the record books with his breath-taking inning.
Suryakmar Yadav smashed an unbeaten 102 runs in 51 balls with 12 boundaries and six maximums at a strike rate of 200. This was SKY's second three-digit score in his IPL career, joining former MI skipper Rohit Sharma as the batter with the most centuries (2) for the franchise.
Here is the list of records broken by Mumbai Indians' Suryakumar Yadav during the IPL 2024 clash against the SunRisers Hyderabad:
- Suryakumar Yadav scored his first century in the last season against the Gujarat Titans, which was also his highest score in the IPL as he smashed an unbeaten 103 runs. With his century against SRH, the Mumbai batter became the second MI batter to score two centuries after Rohit Sharma.

Both of his IPL tons came at Mumbai's home, making him the only MI batter to score two centuries at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
- Both of his IPL centuries came in the winning cause as he became the fourth Mumbai player in IPL history to score a century in a successful run-chase joining the likes of Sanath Jayasuriya, Lendl Simmons, and Cameron Green. Apart from that, SKY also became the second MI player with the most runs in successful run-chase in IPL after Sanath Jayasuriya (114* vs CSK in IPL 2008).
- SKY and Tilak Varma combined for 143* runs for the 4th wicket, which is the second-highest partnership for MI in IPL history after Dwayne Smith and Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten stand of 163*.
