With the start of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just hours away, the broadcasters of the tournament have introduced a sign language feed for the differently abled fans. This update comes after the tournament, along with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced a brand-new smart Replay System.

The upcoming edition of the tournament will provide a special sign language feed along with the descriptive commentary for the deaf, hard of hearing and the visually impaired fans. The broadcasters of the tournament, Star Sports have worked closely with the India Signing Hands (ISH News) to curate the customised commentary.

“What makes it even more special is its ability to engage with visually impaired fans with commentators describing every moment of the game along with regular verbal score updates,” the IPL 2024 broadcaster, Star Sports said.
