Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to face each other in the final of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3. On such big occasion, runs will be desperately needed today and wickets and maybe some in succession, will be keenly sought. There's a lot that can happen over the space of 20 innings to put the right amount of pressure over the team in pursuit and that is where pressure can come in, build up.
Which is why having a reasonably respectable record at the venue one is poised to play the final at becomes so much important.
That being said, of all the batters who will be engaging in some run making tonight for their respective teams, which names particularly come to the fore in terms of the most runs scored along with the respectable strike rate and the highest scores? Worry not, we have got it covered for you. Here are the key batting charts at Ahmedabad's iconic cricket stadium, venue for tonight's mega IPL clash:
Virat Kohli
At times, the name is enough. A bowler-smasher, batsman-par-excellence, not just IPL, but cricket legend, Kohli is a legend for all seasons.
At this particular venue, Kohli has scored in aplenty where it comes to both the Indian cricket and the RCB standpoint.
First up, here's his overall batting record: from 12 matches, Kohli has already accumulated 477 runs here and with a highest score of 80* along with a strike rate of 137.
But where it comes to the IPL, specifically, then Kohli has played 6 innings at Ahmedabad stadium, from which he's scored 219 runs at an average of 54.7.
His highest score for RCB here remains 70 not out.
Shreyas Iyer
An excellent captain and someone who, truth be told, has somewhere become a sentimenal favourite of the fan in the Indian Premier League, one loves and respets Iyer with equal measure.
After having already proven his potential as a true leader for his previous KKR side, the Punjab Kingsfranchise will look up to their newly-appointed leader who donned the captaincy hat in 2025, to help the team go the distance.
And tonight could be that day.
Thus far at this venue, Iyer has from 8 matches scored 363 runs, which includes a big key knock of 97*. Moreover, his strike rate of 191 is quite alarming at this venue for his opponents.
What ought to be noted is that earlier during March of this year, the right handed Iyer’s knock helped Punjab post 243 on the board over here and his team beat GT by 11 runs at the latter's home turf.
Rajat Patidar
Cometh the hour, cometh the man and where it comes to the RCB, then undoubtedly, Rajat Patidar, the strokemaker will play a key hand at the Ahmedabad venue tonight.
At this particular venue, Patidar has scored from 5 matches, 154 runs, which includes a highest score of 58 and he enjoys scoring here at a strike rate of 132.
These are numbers that someone like Iyer and his bowlers would like to keep a close tab on.
For maintaining a cool headed approach whilst batting, Patidar, who's not known to be a big risktaker, could well hang in there tonight if needed and play a part in spoiling Punjab's plans.
But will that happen?
Shashank Singh
An excellent cricketer and someone who has earned the respect of his rivals as well as his contemporaries in the Punjab franchise, Shashank is actually one of the key batters in the famed Kings' line-up.
He can produce daring rescue innings with the bat and also help push the scoring rates, keeping a cool head over his shoulders.
That said from 3 matches, he's scored 107 runs at this venue, which includes a highest score of 61.
Nehal Wadhera
He's really been a class act and one of the most critical run-makers for the Punjab franchise in the key middle order position. Thus far, Wadhera, a fine timer of the ball who doesn't always hit it that hard, has scored from 3 matches, 92 runs, with a highest score of 48.
It will be interesting to see if he can assist the other batters in his unit to come up with fine partnerships in the big final contest as stands in the middle will be key.
His brilliant and very elegant 48 the other evening against Mumbai was really a knock to savour and one that showed his captain the true potential of his young talent.
Priyansh Arya
Clearly, one of the pick of the batters all season long for the Punjab Kings, if there was ever a night to play like a King, then tonight's that occasion for the fearless Priyansh Arya.
A man who confesses about his love for batting and scoring freely, thus far, at the Ahmedabad venue, Priyansh Arya has from 2 matches to his name, 67 runs, including a highest score of 47.
Marcus Stoinis
Dangerous, destructive and unpredictable; while it's true to an extent that the last few games haven't really gone the domineering Australian's way, tonight, one could aruge be a little different.
Stoinis presents just the calmness and free stroking ways that someone like Shreyas Iyer could very much use particularly in the high-octane event like the final of the 2025 IPL season.
And he's made a few runs, though not too many at the venue:
From 6 matches, the right-handed batter has scored 54 runs, with a highest score of 22.
