Punjab Kings (PBKS) are coming with almost a completely new team in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. Having last qualified for the playoffs in 2014, PBKS will be looking to change their fortunes in IPL 2025. PBKS will also have Shreyas Iyer as their skipper for the upcoming season, who led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the title last year. They will kickstart their IPL campaign with a match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 25.
It will be the 18th edition of the IPL which is set to begin with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on March 23. Total 10 teams from different cities will lock horns to get their hands on the title on May 25. Total 74 matches will be played throughout the season including 70 matches in the league stages. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs stage of the tournament. The first qualifier and the Eliminator will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on May 20 and 21 respectively, while the second qualifier is scheduled to be played in Kolkata on May 23 followed by the final at the same ground on May 25.
PBKS IPL 2025 Schedule
PBKS haven’t been able to qualify for the playoffs from the last 11 years after making it to the final in 2014. However, they are coming with a strong squad with Ricky Ponting as their head coach and Shreyas Iyer as their captain. It will be interesting to see how PBKS finish in IPL 2025 with a new-look squad. PBKS will play their first two matches of IPL 2025 on away venues before they return to their home ground as they host Rajasthan Royals at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on April 5. They will play their first four home games in New Chandigarh and the remaining three home matches at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. PBKS’ last league game will be against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 16.
