The highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 schedule has been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, February 16, wherein the opening match of the season is slated to go down in exactly five weeks time. Rajasthan Royals (RR), the inaugural champions, are slated to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening match of the IPL 2025 season at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on March 23.
This will be the 18th edition of the IPL, where 10 teams from different cities will lock horns to get their hands on the title on May 25. A total of 74 matches will be played throughout the season including 70 matches in the league stages. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs stage of the tournament. The first qualifier and the Eliminator will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on May 20 and 21 respectively, while the second qualifier is scheduled to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 23, followed by the final at the same ground on May 25.
RR IPL 2025 Schedule
Under the leadership of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals have made the playoffs twice in the last three seasons, but they failed to make it through to the final on either occasion. In the year 2025, RR will be looking to start off their IPL campaign on a high against SRH away before pushing themselves to win enough matches in the league stage, to ensure qualification to the playoff stage.
