With only a few days remaining for the commencement of the 2025 IPL season, the buzz around this tournament is building. In this article we will take a look at the strongest possible playing XI for the 2022 IPL winners; Gujarat Titans.

Shubhman Gill

At number one we have team captain Shubman Gill. The youngster, who won the U-19 World Cup with India in 2018 was roped into the IPL setup by Kolkata Knight Riders. He was picked by the Titans in the 2022 IPL auction and has since been a very important part of the team. He was recently retained for INR 16.5 Crore by GT and will surely be one of its confirmed starters.

Jos Buttler

The English wicketkeeper-batter who scored two centuries with the Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 IPL season, was bought by the Gujarat franchise for INR 15.75 Crore. His explosive batting nature will surely bag him a spot in the playing XI.

Sai Sudarshan

The 23 year-old Tamil Nadu batter was acquired by the Titans in 2022 after having a good stint in the local domestic T20 league in Chennai. He has since grabbed the attention of several IPL franchises but was retained by GT for INR 8.5 Crore as a good candidate for a top-order batter. With 527 runs in his last campaign, including one ton and two half-centuries, Sudarshan will look to help the team in this upcoming season as well.

‘The flying beast’ from New Zealand, Glenn Phillips was snapped up by the Gujarat franchise for INR 2 Crore in the latest auction. Although he only has eight IPL games under his belt, his recent performances with the national team and his aggressive stroke play could see him secure a spot in the team.

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan was bought by the Gujarat Titans for INR 7.4 Crore in the latest auction. Khan had proven his mettle as he was part of the Tamil Nadu team that won two consecutive Syed Mushtaq Ali trophies and was picked up by the Punjab Kings in the IPL. Although he has not had a great record in the IPL so far, he will look to repay the faith that the Gujarat franchise has put in him.

Mahipal Lomror

The left-handed all-rounder was bought by GT for INR 1.70 Crore from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His big-hitting abilities and left-arm bowling capabilities make him an important asset for the Gujarat franchise.

Rahul Tewatia

The 2014 IPL debutant was in demand in the IPL 2025 mega auction with CSK, RCB and GT bidding to retain the player's services. The left-hand all-rounder who is known for his hard-hitting batting, has not had a great season in the IPL but will be looking to comeback strong and prove his worth

Rashid Khan

A generational leg-spinner, Rashid Khan has been one of the most consistent performers for the Gujarat Titans. He had a phenomenal stint with the SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL previously and then moved to GT where he was retained for INR 18 Crore before this season.

Kagiso Rabada

The South African speedster was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for INR 10.75 Crore in the latest auction. Rabada has a great record in the IPL since his debut in 2017 with 117 wickets to his name. He won the Purple Cap in 2020 with the Delhi Capitals, taking 30 wickets in that edition to become the highest wicket-taker.

Mohammed Siraj

The former RCB fast bowler was bought in by GT for INR 12.25 Crore. Siraj has shown his bowling skills with the Indian national team and has a decent record with RCB in the last two seasons as well, taking 15 and 19 wickets respectively. He will look to cement his place as a mainstay in the bowling unit of the Gujarat franchise.

Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna was part of the 2022 RR team that reached the final, picking up 19 wickets in that season of the IPL. He was ruled out of the subsequent two IPL seasons and will look to make his comeback in the franchise league in this edition. He was acquired by GT for INR 9.50 Crore in the latest auction. A fast bowler with height and pace, he will look to repeat his success in the 2022 IPL season.
