Star India batter Virat Kohli and his spouse Anushka Sharma became allies for a pickleball game held at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team event. Ahead of their crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 contest against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the event delivered joyful moments to RCB players and support staff accompanied by their family members. Kohli, who is yet to play his first competitive match after his Test retirement, was seen pairing up with his wife Anushka for the match against RCB mentor and former India stumper-batter Dinesh Karthik and his spouse Dipika Pallikal Karthik.
A series of images were published through RCB's X handle that showed Kohli, Anushka, Karthik, Dipika, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and other members of RCB playing pickleball. Taking to X, RCB dropped the images and captioned, “Powering through teamwork, RCB Style! #PlayBold #ನಮ್ಮRCB #IPL2025.” Virat Kohli, who has been in sensational form this season, will look to be at his best to gear up for the playoffs. In this competition, the 36-year-old has notched up 505 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of 143.46. With these numbers, the veteran is the leading run-getter for Challengers thus far in the tournament.
RCB will take on SRH for the first time in IPL 2025
Challengers will next clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 23 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both teams haven’t played against each other so far in the tournament. RCB will look to beat the 2016 IPL champions to depose the table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) from the top spot.
Talking about RCB's position on the points tally, they are placed second with 17 points earned through eight wins and one no-result game in 12 matches. RCB supporters will expect their team to end the league round in top two so that the 2016 runners-up could get the second chance to compete for the final spot in case they lose the first Qualifier.
