The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini auction is underway as Australia all-rounder Cameron Green became the second most expensive player in the history if the league as Mumbai Indians bought the 23-year-old for  INR 17.50 Crore. Apart from Cameroon Green, other Australian players also received decent bids in the auction.

The IPL 2023 auction, which was held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi on Friday, witnessed record breaking bids as England all-rounder Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the IPL history as Punjab Kings bought the 24-year-old T20 World Cup winner for a whopping INR 18.5 Crore.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green was the first pick for Mumbai Indians and become the five-time IPL winner's most expensive player ever. Green represented Australia in eight T20I matches and scored 139 runs with an average of 17.4 and has picked five wickets with an economy of 8.90. In the BBL 2022-23, Green has played nine matches for Perth Scorchers and scored 106 runs with an average of 15.14.

Apart from Green, Aussie bowler Jhye Richardson was also bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 1.5 Crore after not playing in the 2022 edition. Richardson was bought by PBKS in 2021 for a massive INR 14 Crore. Daniel Sams received an INR 75 lakh bid from Lucknow Super Giants.

Aussie players like Adam Zampa, Travis Head, Riley Meredith and Lance Morris remain unsold during the first pick. However, Zampa was bought by Rajasthan Royals at the base price of INR 1.50 Crore.
