After a rain-affected 1st T20I, Ireland and India are all set to lock horns in the second game of the three-game series. The Men in Blue, just barely, managed to clinch the win by two runs after the DLS calculations. The opening fixture saw Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna return from injury with a banging performance. Whereas for the hosts, Barry McCarthy emerged as an unlikely hero with a crucial 50.
The pitch for the first T20I was far more balanced than the previous encounters at the Village in Dublin. Unlike being a batting paradise, the overcast conditions aided the bowlers as both teams struggled with the bat. But, with slight cricket-friendly weather, the second T20I could present a batting showcase.

The Irish had a few positives in the first T20I despite being outplayed in each department. The batters struggled on the back of poor decision-making combined with difficult playing conditions. But fast bowler Barry McCarthy managed to spend some time in the middle and was able to score a fighting half-century. Whereas with the ball, Mccarthy and Joshua Little put in some decent a three-over spell before Craig Young found back-to-back and nearly won the game for the hosts.

On the other hand, Team India, put forth a stunning bowling effort with Jasprit Burmah, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi emerging as top performers. India’s biggest concern in the bowling department was Arshdeep Singh, who despite a top start, failed to conserve runs in the death overs. The batters had a decent performance with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad battling harsh conditions.
