Indian batting sensation Sarfaraz Khan revealed his conversation with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja after his run-out dismissal on Day 1 of the third Test between India and England. Making his international debut, Khan took the cricketing world by storm as he played a blistering 62-knock after Indian captain Rohit Sharma got out.
Sharma, batting with Ravindra Jadeja, helped stitch up a massive 204-run standing which helped India fight back after an early collapse. As the Indian captain departed, Khan didn't allow England to come back into the contest with an incredible display of slogs and sweeps. Soon the 26-year-old reached his half-century but as he waited at the non-striker's end in the 82nd over, a miscommunication led to his unfortunate dismissal.
It was a moment of miscommunication: Jadeja to Sarfaraz
Speaking at the press conference after Day 1, Sarfaraz Khan was about his conversation with Ravindra Jadeja in the dressing room after the run-out. The Mumbai batter revealed, "he told me it (run out) was a moment of miscommunication which I also agreed and told him it's okay and it isn't a big deal."
I told Jaddu bhai to keep talking to me: Sarfaraz Khan
Further in the press conference, Sarfaraz Khan complemented Ravindra Jadeja for his support as he felt nervous at first. Khan then shared he gradually overcame that feeling without much fuss. He said, “I told Jaddu bhai to keep talking to me while I bat since I like talking while batting. He supported me a lot today while batting. There was nervousness early on but it felt normal after that.”
