Cricket fans across the globe will get to witness an electrifying game when India will take on Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The games between India and Pakistan are simply more than just being games; they are filled with emotions, rage and what not, and fans from both sides are expecting the upcoming game to be filled with thrill and excitement. There have been debates about Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming mega event, but amidst that Pakistan cricketer Imam-ul-Haq has expressed his desire of winning the tournament on Indian soil.
Pakistani opener Imam revealed that he and the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam had a discussion in 2010 and said that playing against India at their home would be a very special occasion. The 27-year-old cricketer admitted of being nervous ahead of the big tournament but said that their team is capable of winning the trophy this year.
Imam-ul-Haq was in a conversation with a YouTube channel where he said that his team is very balanced. He said, “Playing in India, especially against India and doing something special (was something) that Babar and I were discussing before 2010. I really believe our one-day team is the most compatible and balanced team. So yes, everybody is excited. A bit nervous as well, I won’t lie. This team can do wonders, and it would be good for our nation if we win the World Cup in India.”

The Pakistan opener also talked about his personal journey between the two World Cup editions, 2019 to 2023 and said that he is a more mature person now. The southpaw added, "The combination is similar to 2019. Whenever you give opportunities to players, performances will come. We have chased 350 here (in Pakistan), we’ve scored 330 in South Africa, we won the series there. Yes, I really believe it. If I ask myself, if I see in the mirror, Imam-ul -Haq is very different from 2019 to 2023. I’m much older, much more mature.”
The upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is set to begin from October 5 in India, where the reigning champions, England will lock horns with New Zealand, the runners up of 2019 WC at Narendra Modi Stadium. Meanwhile Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against Qualifier 1 in Hyderabad on October 6.
