India and Australia are taking on each other in the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2022-23 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. After opting to bat first, Indian batters looked helpless on a viciously turning Indore pitch as the team got bowled out for 109. Virat Kohli with his 22 (52) was India’s highest run-getter in the first innings. After a shambolic show with the bat, Indian players made mistakes while bowling too.

Although Ravindra Jadeja sent back Travis Head way too early in the innings, Usman Khawaja scored a half-century before gifting his wicket to Jadeja. Meanwhile, India also kept wasting their reviews. While they burned two of the three reviews in the second session, the last one was also wasted in the third session.

As Australia's stand-in captain Steve Smith got struck on his pads, Jadeja and other team India players went up with the appeal with all their might. However, the on-field umpire looked unmoved. Jadeja then convinced Rohit Sharma to refer the decision to the third umpire only to see India losing their last review. The Indian captain did not look pleased with all of this as Rohit abused Jadeja in frustration.

Day 2 of the 3rd Test took a topsy-turvy turn in 3 sessions. While India looked in control after dismissing Australia for 197, Australia came back strongly and on the back of Nathan Lyon's 8-fer spell, the visitors dismissed India on 163. Australia now needs 75 runs on Day 3 to make it 2-1 in the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
