The UFC has scheduled Jamie Mullarkey, a lightweight contender to compete against Guram Kutateladze at UFC Vegas 74. Well-known journalist Marcel Dorff took to Twitter to announce this lightweight bout. On June 4 at the UFC apex centre in Las Vegas, the two are scheduled to square off in one of the main card.
Although both the fighters remain unranked as of now, they have proved their skills in their previous fights. Jamie Mullarke enters after defeating Francisco Prado in February to earn his second straight victory. Before winning four of his previous five UFC fights, the 28-year-old lost his first two matches. The Australian-born fighter has seen the highs and lows of the Octagon, but after gaining experience, he might finally be coming into his own.
Meanwhile, Guram Kurateladze, who had a 11-2 record in professional MMA, made his UFC debut in October 2020. When he defeated Mateusz Gamrot, the seventh-ranked UFC lightweight at the time, in a split decision, the fighter from Georgia put the division on notice. Before 'Georgian Viking' made a comeback in June 2022, he had been absent for nearly two years. At that time, he lost to Damir Ismagulov in a split decision.
It is to be noted that Jack Hermansson and Brendan Allen's middleweight matchup was the original featured bout for UFC Vegas 74. The bout between top-ranked flyweights Amir Albazi and Kai Kara-France was later elevated to the main event after Hermansson withdrew due to an injury.
